Centrica’s in-house research incubator strengthens Advisory Board with new appointments

Energised Futures, Centrica’s in-house research and innovation incubator, has welcomed Jane Goodland, Group Head of Sustainability, London Stock Exchange Group, to its Advisory Board, alongside Amanda Barker, Retail Chief Information Officer, Centrica.  

Energised Futures was launched in 2024 to accelerate a new energy future and catalyse Centrica’s purpose of energising a greener, fairer future. The Advisory Board guides Energised Futures in its mission to shape a new future where energy is more reliable, resilient, diversified and democratised. 

Jane Goodland and Amanda Barker joined established Energised Futures Advisory Board members: 

• Pat Symonds, British motor racing engineer legend, and current Cadillac executive engineering consultant
• Professor Peter Childs FREng, Professorial Lead in Design Engineering, Imperial College London
• Allegra Stratton, Former Press Secretary to the Prime Minister, and current Founder and Director of Zeroism
• Dan Rosenfield, Managing Director of Centrica Busines
• Dr Robert Booker (Chair), Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer, Centrica

Of the new appointments, Dr Robert Booker said: “The Energised Futures Advisory Board reflects the demand for a united approach from industry and academia in the race to accelerate a new future of energy. Bringing in the expertise of Jane Goodland empowers Energised Futures with expanded capability to make more financially robust decisions so it – like the energy industry it is shaping – is more resilient to future challenges. I’malso thrilled to bring in Amanda Barker from within Centrica who offers valuable customer insight and technological innovation. She will push the extraordinary Energised Futures researchers to go further while never losing sight of the households, businesses and industries powered by energy.”

The Energised Futures Advisory Board meets twice yearly and positions are voluntary.
